Hunter Montessori School Release Day!
On April 25th, 2008, the Hunter Montessori School of New Hartford held a Release Day as part of it's Trout In The Classroom program. A dozen students and their TIC teacher along with Frank Plona and Bill Case of FVTU and invited guests, made the 5 mile trip to the mouth Cherry Brook Brook in Canton CT. With near perfect weather and excellent water levels, 3 Brown Trout fry were released into the brook to begin their journey in the wild. This was Hunters first release! Even with only 3 fry to release, the students took great pride in thir accomplishment. Along with the release, we also conducted macro-invertebrate sampling.

The Hunter Montessori School Trout In The Classroom Program was made possible by a grant from the Farmington River Coordinating Committee
